    North Dakota State University in Fargo enrolls about 13,200 students and has more than 100 majors. The ratio of students to teachers is 19 to 1.

    NDSU is divided into the following areas of study: Agriculture; arts, humanities and social sciences; business administration; engineering and architecture; human development and education; pharmacy, nursing and allied sciences; science and mathematics; universal studies and graduate school.

    NDSU’s graduate program offers 47 doctoral programs, 59 master’s programs and other degrees. Just some of these advanced degrees at NDSU include animal sciences, music, physics, criminal justice, education, history, software engineering and English. About 1,800 of NDSU’s students are graduate students.

    NDSU is known for its research and developing economic opportunities for the region. It is ranked by many national magazine among the top 100 research universities in the country.

    Tuition and fees for the 2008-2009 academic year at NDSU range from about $5,264 for North Dakota residents to $14,053 for nonresidents, according to NDSU’s web site. Room and board costs range from $3,303.56 for residents to $8,017.06 for nonresidents.

    Sports at NDSU include basketball, golf, cross country, soccer, softball, track and volleyball for women and baseball, track, cross country, basketball, football, golf and wrestling for men. The university also has a variety of intermural and club sports such as men’s and women’s rugby.
