The Island Park Swimming Pool in Fargo is located at 616 First Ave. S. The pool is outdoors and open from June 7 through Aug. 20. There is a 50-meter, eight-lane pool, a wading pool and a diving well with four diving boards. Lap swim is offered at noon and evenings during the week. Concessions are available.

Madison Pool in Fargo is located at 1040 29th St. N. It is open from June 7 through Aug. 15. The facility has a small wading pool and a small swimming pool with water ranging up to 4.5 feet. The splash pad is a play area that sprays water for children of all ages.

Daily admission rates are $2.65 for adults and $1.80 for those 18 and under. The family rate is $5. Season passes are available for families and individuals.

Municipal Pool

Municipal Pool in Moorhead is located at 800 19th St. S. It has two wading pools and a larger pool with depths up to 12 feet. It is heated and has six lanes, along with a diving area. Hours are 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Daily fees for children and adults are $2 for open swim and $1.50 for lap swim. Season passes and renting the pool are available.

Northside Recreational Pool

The Northside Recreational Pool is located at Eighth Street and 19th Ave. N. in Fargo. It is open from June 7 through Aug. 15. It has a waterslide, playground in the water and concessions.

The stadium originally cost $48 million to build. It opened in 1992 and holds more than 19,000 people. It has large video screens to provide easy viewing of action and instant replays.

Centennial Dog Park in Moorhead is located at 2600 15th Ave. N.  The park is free and open from dawn until dusk. It is divided into sections, one area for large dogs and one area for small dogs. The area is enclosed by a high, chain-link fence so the dogs can run off leash. Pick-up bags and trashcans are available. There are also benches, but the park has no running water.

Davy-Memorial-Riverfront parks

Davy Park, Memorial Park and Riverfront Park are all linked together in downtown Moorhead. Combined, the parks have playground equipment, biking and walking trails, restrooms, running water, cross country ski trails, shelters, picnic tables, grills, basketball courts, tennis courts and horseshoes. Gooseberry Park

Gooseberry Park in Moorhead is located at 100 22nd Ave. S. Gooseberry Park is 50 acres and has a playground, sand volley ball court, picnic shelters, picnic tables, walking and biking trails, groomed ski trails, electricity, running water, restrooms and grills. The shelters are available for rent for $75 or $40, depending on the size of the shelter.

M.B. Johnson Park

M.B. Johnson Park is located at 3601 N. 11th St. in Moorhead. The park is more than 100 acres and has groomed ski trails in the winter. The park is also used for snowmobiling and fishing access. Edgewood Golf Course in Fargo is an 18-hole, tree-lined course located along the Red River. Adult rates range from $17.50 to $23.75. Junior and senior rates are available as well as season and family passes. The clubhouse is 6,400 square feet and has a pro shop, banquet space and bar for up to 140 people. Divot’s restaurant located near the course serves burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, subs and drinks. Golf lessons are available for individuals or groups.

El Zagel Golf Course in Fargo is nine holes. Daily green fees are $10 per person. Season passes are available for the 2009 season. Lessons are available at El Zagel, and packaged food is sold at the pro shop.

Osgood Golf Course

Osgood Golf Course is nine holes. It looks challenging but is a good course for all skill levels because of its five tee-box options. A three-hole loop is available for $5, otherwise it’s $13 to $15 per person. Lessons and golf leagues are available at the Osgood course. There is a full-service restaurant called Divot’s.

Prairiewood Golf Course

Prairiewood Golf Course is designed for beginning and senior golfers. It is a nine-hole course with fees ranging from $12.50 to $14.50. Some walk-in appointments are available. Concordia is known for its study abroad programs and for being a college of faith affiliated with the ELCA. Semester and yearlong study abroad programs are available to locations all around the world.
